Our Creed

What We Believe

As an evangelical Baptist church, we affirm the fundamental truths of the Christian faith.

1

The Holy Scriptures

We believe the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired by the Holy Spirit, infallible and sovereign in matters of faith and conduct. It is the supreme authority for everything we believe and practice.

2 Timothy 3:16-17

2

God

We believe in one God, creator of all things, eternally existing in three distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, equal in nature, power, and glory.

Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19

3

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, who became man through his miraculous birth from a virgin. He lived a perfectly holy life, died on the cross as an atoning sacrifice for our sins, was bodily raised on the third day, and ascended into heaven from where he will return in glory.

John 1:1-14; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4

4

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is a divine person who convicts the world of sin, regenerates the believer, indwells them, seals them, and fills them with power for service and holy living.

John 16:8-11; Ephesians 1:13-14

5

Humanity

We believe that humanity was created in the image of God, but through Adam's disobedience, all of humanity has fallen into sin and is separated from God, unable to save itself by its own means.

Genesis 1:27; Romans 3:23

6

Salvation

We believe that the human being who repents of their sins and places their faith in Jesus Christ is instantly regenerated by the Holy Spirit. We believe that this new birth invariably leads to the progressive sanctification of the Christian who resists sin and bears the fruits of obedience to the Bible alone.

Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5

7

Satan

We believe that Satan is a powerful angelic being created by God. We believe he is the origin of sin and that his rebellion earned him the irremediable judgment of God. We believe this sworn enemy of God and humanity was defeated by the work of Jesus Christ on the cross.

Isaiah 14:12-15; Revelation 20:10

8

The Church

We believe the Church is the body of Christ, composed of all born-again believers. The local church is an assembly of baptized believers, united for worship, teaching, fellowship, and witnessing the Gospel to the world.

Ephesians 1:22-23; Acts 2:42

« And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. »

Hebrews 11:6
